ChemAdvocacy conducts SEA for biocide product

The Biocides Products Regulation requires a socio-economic analysis (SEA) of substances which may be subject to substitution (CMR, PBT endocrine disruptors, etc). ChemAdvocacy has been awarded a study on a national authorisation dossier for a wood protection product (PT8), classified CMR, PBT.

We are developing a methodology, the first of its kind for biocide products, inspired by the available guidance (REACH, etc) and we have presented our proposal to the French Competent Authorities, with expected finalization of preparation for submission in early Summer 2013.

ChemAdvocacy organises Webinar on REACH Authorization and Socio Economic Analysis (SEA)

ChemAdvocacy – the joint venture company between Chemservice, CEHTRA and Microeconomix organized together with CHEMICALWATCH a Webinar on REACH Authorisation. Dr. Marta Stryszowska, senior economist of ChemAdvocacy, held a presentation in the workshop which discusses various aspects of the Socio-Economic Analysis (SEA). A REACH authorisation request may include a SEA, which entails comparing the environmental and health risks of the continued use of the hazardous substance with the associated economic benefits.
